TOP Readiness

TOP Readiness is a 25-week program developed to prepare youth for the future by providing 5 weeks of employment readiness training, and 20 weeks of quality work experience with a local business or organization.

Eligibility

  • between the ages of 15 and 30 (inclusive) at the time of intake/selection

  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons who have been granted refugee status in Canada

  • legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations

  • in need of assistance to overcome employment barriers

Wages

Training: 24 hr/week for 5 weeks at $13/hr (stipend)​

Work placement: 35 hr/week for 20 weeks at $13/hr

​

*Workplace wages are subject to change to align with minimum wage.*

  • "On the Job" Training

  • Getting a Job

    • Interview Skills​

    • Resume Building

  • One-on-One Personal Needs and Goals discussions

  • Placement Prep

  • Applying for quality work placements

Week 5

  • One-on-One Support

  • Placement Prep

  • Additional coverage of session topics

Week 6-25

  • Quality Work Experience

  • Return to Coordinator one day monthly for additional training

  • One-on-one support as needed
